Leica Camera, in collaboration with Marcus Wainwright of rag & bone, released a new Leica M Monochrom (Typ 246) ‘Stealth Edition.’
Limited to just 125 sets worldwide and designed by Marcus Wainwright, CEO, Founder and Creative Director of the New York-based fashion brand rag & bone, the special edition camera comes with a Summicron-M 35 mm f/2 ASPH lens.
The price for the camera and lens is $15,750 (pre-order link: Leica Store Miami). Shipping starts on March 20th.

This is the prototype pre-production series before the camera went into full production. Lecia made a few fully functional prototype cameras before the M10 was released. This was the most desirable with the best and nicest matching Noctilux 50mm 0.95 ASPH Silver lens. There were other cameras with other lesser lenses but this was the nicest and also the one with the best #8. Lucky #8! I had the prototype MA with a 35mm f1.4 FLE that I sold for $32,500.

A new Leica Store Dubai Mall was officially opened on March 5th, 2018 – this is the first Leica store in the Middle East. There is also a new Leica Q “Dubai Store” special limited edition camera. The camera has a silver finish and the top is engraved with the geographical coordinates of the store, located inside the Dubai Mall right adjacent to Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. The new Q version will be exclusive to the Dubai Store and only 36 pieces will be made.

New red anodized Handevision IBERIT lenses for Leica M-mount were on display last week at the 2018 CP+ show in Japan. No additional information is available at that point.

The 8th edition of the Leica Pocket Book is now available for sale – it provides an illustrated guide to Leica cameras and lenses from 1925 to 2012. The book was reprinted in 2018 by Red Dot Photo Books (the previous print was in 2012) with contributions from Brian Bower and Nobby Clark as well as production figures and serial number lists (up to 2008).
