Andy Summers’ “Del Mondo” and the Leica Gallery São Paulo Opening

Andy Summers’ exhibition “Del Mondo” opened at the Leica Gallery São Paulo, the first ever Leica gallery in South America, in August 2015. The exhibit, comprised of forty-two black and white images, shows the artist’s life in photographs captured from around the world – from Tanzania to Shanghai – between 1978 and 2014. What to expect from Leica Camera in the next few months: new system camera, Noctilux, X-U Typ 113

A quick recap of the latest rumors/what to expect from Leica in the next few months (the first announcement is expected in the next 30-60 days):

New full frame interchangeable lens camera with AF and EVF
New Noctilux lens – could for the M or T systems or maybe for the new Leica system mentioned above
Leica X-U Typ 113 – I believe this will be a new compact X camera with a fixed lens and maybe a built-in EVF

Leica S Typ 007 medium format camera officially released with a $8,000 price drop

I already reported that the Leica S Typ 007 medium format camera will be released at the end of August and the price will be lower than initially reported. The new US price is $16,900 (the original price was $25,400 or $8,000 less). The European price is £12,900/€15,000. Shipping will start in September. The camera’s instructions can be downloaded here. New Leica X-U Typ 113 camera on the horizon
