I-shot-it.com announced the winner of their 2013 black and white photo competition: Damon Winter will receive the $20,000 prizer and a new Leica M Monochrom camera Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, majority shareholder of Leica Camera AG, recently acquired a 25.1% stake in the Internet based photography competition website “I-shot-it”. The Leica Boutique (Foto Henny Hoogeveen) located in The Netherlands has listed a stainless steel Fake Leica sculpture by the Chinese artist Liao Yibai for sale. It seems that two different sized sculptures are available. Pricing is not listed on their website (available upon request) but a similar sculpture located at the new Leica LA store is said to be valued at $1 million.
Update: the small Fake Leica pictured above is priced at $150,000.

The new Adobe Lightroom 5 image editing software now comes with all Leica S, M, X, V and D-Lux cameras. Leica Camera AG made an official statement few weeks ago but for some reason I missed it and did not cover it on the blog:
This video shows the winners and finalists’ portfolios for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award 2013. Thousands of entries were received from all over the world. The video and awards were presented on July 3 during Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie photography festival held in Arles, France. Evgenia Arbugaeva won the Leica Oskar Barnack Award for her portfolio,“Tiksi” and Ciril Jazbec won the Leica Oskar Barnack Newcomer Award for his portfolio “Waiting to Move.”
