I was trying to figure out the model of the Leica camera on this picture from DCWatch:
and I realized that this is not a real camera, but the original wooden Leica M camera that I reported a while back:
The lowest price I found for the wooden Leica M camera is $49. On eBay the same camera is selling for over $100. In Europe LFI sales it for €62, in the UK the price is £55. Here is the product description:
Leica M2 “attrape” dummy camera and 50mm Summicron lens
“Dumb” Leica CL camera and 40mm lens
Macfilos published an interesting article on “attrape” Leica cameras and lenses:
A Trap. When you think of it in these terms, Leica’s word for dummy cameras and lenses makes sense. Attrape comes from the French verb attraper, meaning to catch (a ball, or a cold for that matter) but is also used in the English sense of “being caught” or conned. From as early as the Leica III, Wetzlar has been at attraping us with a wide range of very authentic dummies, mainly intended for display purposes.
