The Ninth Issue of S Magazine Shows the Diversity of Professional and Contemporary Leica Photography
May 18, 2017 – S Magazine has continually documented the expertise and inspiration of globally acclaimed photographers, and the ninth issue, available today, goes further still by presenting a new exhibit of professional and contemporary Leica photography. For the first time, S Magazine illustrates the enormous diversity of Leica photographers in a lookbook containing 20 top portfolios. On Monday Leica Camera announced the end of the free sensor replacement for older M9/M9-P/M-E/Monochrom cameras that suffer from CCD sensor corrosion. One of the options given was to upgrade to a new M model, but the official text did not provide any details. Here are the exact US prices on the different upgrade paths:

Leica Camera announced today they will end the free CCD sensors replacement for M9/M9-P/M-E/Monochrom cameras that are older than 5 years on August 15th, 2017. After that date, Leica will continue to replace the sensor only in cases where the cameras have been purchased as new products within the last five years. For cameras older than 5 years, the sensor replacement will still be available for 982 euros (around $1000). Here are the details:

→ A new thumb rest for Leica Q was introduced in Japan by Yuen Co. (model UNX-8555). The suggested retail price is 14,000 yen (around $120).

→ Macphun released a custom preset collection for the Luminar photo editor – there are 8 completely free sets, plus 3 premium collections.

→ TowerJazz, the rumored Leica Q sensor manufacturer, reported record free cash flow resulting from strong year over year growth in revenue and margins.
