The Zeiss Distagon T* 1,4/35 ZM lens is now officially announced and is available for pre-order in black and silver (the lens listing is wrong). Additional information after the break (PDF file with MTF charts can be downloaded here).
The previously rumored Zeiss Distagon 35/1.4 ZM lens is now listed at B&H website (this is obviously not a zoom lens). Stay tuned for additional details.

As previously reported, I was expecting a new ZM lens from Zeiss to be announced at Photokina. I received some information today that this lens will be a new Distagon 35/1.4 ZM. This will be a nice addition to the already existing Zeiss Biogon 35/2 and 35/2.8 versions.
Back in 2012 Zeiss promised at least one new “special surprise“ fast ZM lens (for Leica M mount) for 2013 that never materialized, unless I am missing something (see full press release).
