Today Leica released firmware update version 1.1. for the new Leica T type 701 camera that is scheduled to start shipping next week (May 26th). A list of the included improvements in the new firmware is not available at that point.

Nordic Photo announced a new Leica M Monochrom Silver Anniversary Edition camera for their 25th anniversary (the Monochrom is available only in black). This limited edition will come with a silver Leica Summilux M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH lens (including a silver lens hood). The price is 140,000 SEK (around $21,000).

STMicroelectronics, the producer of the current Leica M 24MP sensor, has recently updated their website with the claim that they would soon offer CMOS image sensors “with 100′s of millions of pixels”:
