European TV talent show for professional and dedicated amateur photographers begins second series with Leica Camera AG as exclusive technical provider

Following the enormous success of the first season, the new series of the Sky Arts TV talent show ‘Master of Photography’ will be aired from 25 May 2017 on Sky Arts in the UK and Republic of Ireland, Sky Arte HD in Italy and Sky Arts HD in Germany and Austria. In this second season, Leica Camera AG makes a return appearance as the show’s exclusive technical provider. The aim of this unique international production is to promote all aspects of creative photography.

Upgrade options for Leica M9/M9-P/M-E/Monochrom cameras with CCD sensor corrosion

On Monday Leica Camera announced the end of the free sensor replacement for older M9/M9-P/M-E/Monochrom cameras that suffer from CCD sensor corrosion. One of the options given was to upgrade to a new M model, but the official text did not provide any details. Here are the exact US prices on the different upgrade paths:

Leica to end the free CCD sensor replacement for older M9/M9-P/M-E/Monochrom cameras on August 15th, 2017

Leica Camera announced today they will end the free CCD sensors replacement for M9/M9-P/M-E/Monochrom cameras that are older than 5 years on August 15th, 2017. After that date, Leica will continue to replace the sensor only in cases where the cameras have been purchased as new products within the last five years. For cameras older than 5 years, the sensor replacement will still be available for 982 euros (around $1000). Here are the details:
