Leica Compact Flash CF 22 for D-Lux 4 is now available for pre-order (US):
The CF 22 electronic flash unit with a metric guide number of 22 (at ISO 100) is used whenever maximum shooting freedom of image and top performance in flash photography with the LEICA D-LUX 4 are required. The compact flash unit was specifically developed and perfectly engineered for the D-LUX (available from February 2009).
This update extends RAW file compatibility for Aperture 2 and iPhoto 08 for the following cameras:
Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Canon PowerShot G10
Pentax K2000/K-m
Leaf AFi-II 6
Leaf AFi-II 7
Leaf Aptus-II 6
Leaf Aptus-II 7
Leica M8.2
It also addresses issues related to specific cameras and overall stability.
Leica Fotografie International (LFI) reading sample is now available online. Among other articles, It contains an interview with Leica’s management on the S2 system.
The new Leica CF 22 flash for the D-Lux 4 will be available February 2009.

Panasonic announced a firmware update service for the DMC-LX3, Ver1.1. This new firmware includes a compatibility update for the optional FL220 flash unit, and improves auto white balance performance under different color temperatures and lighting.
